A little scruffy but still solid, bourgeois villa from 1930’ needed not only reconstruction and expansion of the attic but it also required adding some lightness and sunlight. Actually, it needed a new life. Perfectly smooth, white plaster put on all elevations gave the house a unified look and made it possible for the original details such as decorative doors
or the balustrade of the balcony to stand out. All new elements (a garret, a roof over the entrance) are sheltered
by mirror glass panes. Like mirror,
they reflect sunlight and the surrounding greenery and do not overwhelm the mass of the old house. At the same time,
they point out the modern character
of the added parts. The charm
of the past, luminous white and a drop
of quicksilver - an old house is ready
to start its new life.
