A department store Kameleon was raised between 1927 and 1928 for Rudolf Petersdorff according to a project
of an outstanding architect Erich Mendelsohn. The building is an icon
of XX century modernism. After many years of neglect the building took on a new brilliance. Noble elevation materials were exposed (travertine
and copper). The look and functions
of the interior were also changed since their function shifted from commercial
to office. Formerly Petersdorff Department Store attracts new clientele and emphasizes big-city atmosphere
of Oławska Street.
